Reiki at a glance
Reiki is a Japanese technique for reducing stress and relaxing that also promotes healing. It is administered by laying on hands and is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us, giving us life and promoting health. The word “reiki” comes from two Japanese words: rei (God’s wisdom or the higher power) and ki (life force energy).1The International Center for Reiki Training. What is Reiki? Viewed August 25, 2021.
